Distinctive terrace landscaping completes these stylish new Fitzrovia apartments.

101 on Cleveland is a boutique collection of 88 stylish apartments in fashionable Fitzrovia. Constructed by McLaren and completed in 2021, 101 on Cleveland features two distinctive terrace gardens that sit between the building’s three blocks. Designed by landscape architect Assael, the landscaped terrace gardens include areas for outdoor study, exercise, community events and socialising, lawns with informal playspace, elevated decking platforms, lush planting for screening and beautification, plus discreet habitat features such as bird boxes and bug hotels. The terraces offer amazing views of the London skyline, including the iconic BT Tower, offering a rare retreat from city life.

Terrace landscaping specialists

Valley Provincial were chosen by McLaren to undertake the landscaping on the scheme. The project involved extensive redesign work, with both McLaren and Assael, to create a scheme that reflected the original intent yet was aligned to budget allowances. Throughout this process we were able to demonstrate our technical understanding of terrace projects, from practical installation through to product selection and aesthetics. A compact programme on site meant our teams had to deliver to achieve handover dates.

The scheme involved an extensive raised planter layout and included granite paving, non-combustible decking and artificial grass surface finishes. There was also play equipment, a raised deck and a pergola structure. A fantastic planting scheme completes the terrace landscaping, with an automated irrigation system running throughout. We will also be providing ongoing maintenance to ensure the space is always looking its best. We are looking forward to seeing the planting establish.
