Roof terrace at Bloom Clerkenwell
An incredible 15,400 sq ft of roof terrace created in the heart of Clerkenwell.
The Farringdon West Crossrail over-site development, known as Bloom Clerkenwell, is a premium office location built by developer HB Reavis. Completed in 2021, it brings 144,00 sq ft of work, retail and amenity space to the creative hub of Clerkenwell. Designed by architects John Robertson Architects, amenities have been put at the heart of the scheme with a distinct focus on physical and mental wellbeing. The green workspace boasts an impressive 15,400 sq ft of landscaped roof terraces spread over two levels. This 11% terrace-to-office ratio provides valuable outside space with far-reaching views over the capital – the perfect spot to meet up & unwind.
Roof terrace installation specialists
Valley Provincial were appointed by HB Reavis to undertake the landscaping works to the 4th and 7th level roof terraces. We worked closely with the HB Reavis team and terrace system specialists Raaft to finalise design concepts. There were also some access issues to overcome, as the crane was no longer operational in the final stages of the development.
Both areas are finished in porcelain tiles mounted on a pedestal and rail system. The 4th level terrace includes a range of planters and contemporary furniture, with a bold, colourful planting scheme that compliments the colour of the building itself. On the 7th level terrace, the planters and benches are mounted on wheels to ensure the space remains flexible and can be adapted. The planting on this level consists entirely of fruit, vegetable and herb species to create an urban edible garden.
Valley Provincial are specialists in roof terrace, roof garden and podium landscaping projects, and we would love to hear from you about any upcoming projects.
