A unique micro-neighbourhood of 110 new homes in the heart of Hackney Wick
Built on the site of a former metal works, Stone Studios is described by our client Telford Homes as “a unique micro-neighbourhood of 110 new homes in the heart of Hackney Wick”. It is a live/work community rubbing shoulders with former industrial spaces that are now home to artist studios, quirky and creative eateries and craft breweries.
A central courtyard with garden and play areas for residents features contemporary hard and soft landscaping, including steel and oak structures, pedestal paving and raised planters containing trees and shrubs.
Project execution
As the landscaped area sits within an enclosed courtyard, all materials needed to be craned into position while construction was underway and lifting facilities were available. Valley Provincial later returned to the site to complete the project so that publicly accessible areas such as paths and roadways were completed in time for handover.

“This is the first project I’ve worked on with Valley Provincial. In terms of hard and soft landscaping contractors, they’re the best I’ve worked with to date. From the senior managers down to the guys they’ve had on site: very, very helpful, very, very cooperative. It’s just been a joy and a delight to work with them, they make my life as a construction manager easy.
If I were to recommend Valley Provincial, the main thing that stands out is the quality of their work, the quality of their staff as well; very, very helpful, hardworking, dedicated workforce. I’ve been in this industry for close to thirty years now and the Valley Provincial workforce – they’re excellent.”
