Playground construction and External Works at new-build School in London
Following a rigorous tender process, Mace Group awarded Valley Provincial the external works package of the John Keats Primary School development. This was a mixed-use development in London. Likewise, Valley Provincial were also contracted to complete a roof terrace project by another contractor (see our Bermondsey Works case study).
The project included elements of hard landscaping, such as resin surfaces, edging and play equipment. The scheme also incorporated a range of recreational surfaces. Not only did this include Artificial Grass, Polymeric Wetpour, Synthetic Turf but also Composite Decking. Street furniture was also within our package, as well as canopies, fencing, bespoke planters, storage units and a planting scheme, including several trees. The project also involved the installation of a polymeric Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) on podium level.

As part of our agreement, Valley Provincial held responsibility for discharging planning conditions prior to commencement. We liaised with Southwark Council to satisfy these requirements and gaining their approval. All in all achieving this without any delays to the project schedule. A further party involved was the Educational Skills Funding Agency (FSFA), who were included and informed throughout the project.
We added value for Mace Group by working to achieve tight deadlines, which relieved them of pressure and ensured the overall development was a success for them.
“Valley Provincial have demonstrated professionalism throughout the delivery of John Keats Primary School external works. All of the team where extremely personable and their willingness to work with us enabled the project to run smoothly and to programme. Overall, the quality of work is outstanding and has resulted in a final finish that all parties are very pleased with.”
