Joined-up thinking

Working with Architects Rock Townsend and developers Telford Homes, The Vibe development in Dalston, South East London has already been recognised as a ground-breaking project.

The vision was to replace an existing school on the site with a new school and nursery, integrated into a new apartment block above it. With such a restricted urban space, there was a need to ensure that all outdoor amenities were fully integrated into the development’s overall footprint both effectively and cohesively.

Working closely as part of the design team, we were able to use the development’s elevation to create innovative raised play and exercise areas above street-level as well as outdoor gardens and approaches. It was a plan only made possible by  established, on-going and effective cooperation and communication.

The award-winning results at The Vibe can be enjoyed in more detail here.

Sharing is its own reward

There are undoubted benefits when all parties are able to work as an integrated whole.

We were able to bring the vision for this space to life through the use of hard and soft landscaping, including a polymeric Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and a rooftop running track.

We also used paving, resin bound stone, decking and artificial grass, street furniture and storage units to create exactly what this ambitious mixed-use space required.

The Vibe project has gone on to win two prestigious awards for mixed-site developments in London this year. What better evidence of the benefits of collective working can there be than that?
