Joined-up thinking

Working with Architects Rock Townsend and developers Telford Homes, The Vibe development in Dalston, South East London is as a ground-breaking mixed use space project.

The vision was to replace an existing school on the site with a new school and nursery, integrated into a new apartment block above it. With such a restricted urban space, there’s need to ensure that all outdoor amenities fully integrate into the development’s overall footprint both effectively and cohesively.

Working as part of the design team, the development’s elevation creates innovative raised play. In addition was the inclusion of exercise areas above street-level as well as outdoor gardens and approaches. It was a plan only made possible by established, on-going and effective cooperation and communication.

Sharing is its own reward

Undoubtedly the benefits rise when all parties work as an integrated whole.

We brought the vision for this space to life through the use of hard and soft landscaping. Also added was a polymeric Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and a rooftop running track.

We also use paving, resin bound stone, decking and artificial grass, street furniture and storage units. All together they create exactly what this ambitious mixed-use space requires.

The Vibe project has gone on to win two prestigious awards for mixed-site developments in London this year. What better evidence of the benefits of collective working than that?
