£2 billion Government package has created a new era for alternative ways to travel with the Cycle to Work scheme
This is to relieve the pressure on public transport. As well as a plan to encourage safer, healthier ways to travel in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The package will see emergency bike lanes, wider pavements, safer junctions, and cycle and bus-only corridors. All created within weeks as part of the emergency active travel fund. Transport for London even has plans for a ‘bike tube’ network above the Underground lines. All of this follows the unprecedented rise in people cycling and walking in recent weeks.
With more employees expected to take advantage of the Cycle to Work scheme, what facilities does your workplace have to accommodate this? Anyone who knows a cyclist will know that a quality road bike is a substantial investment. Of course they will want to ensure it’s protected – meaning they will need to store it safely on site during the working day.
Help reduce the return-to-work anxiety and encourage the pedal-powered return of your workforce with the Cycle to Work scheme!
