A £2 billion package from the Government has created a new era for alternative ways to travel such as walking and cycling.
This is to relieve the pressure on public transport and encourage a safer and healthier way to travel in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The package will see emergency bike lanes, wider pavements, safer junctions, and cycle and bus-only corridors, all created within weeks as part of the emergency active travel fund. Transport for London even has plans for a “bike tube” network above the Underground lines. All of this is following the unprecedented rise in people cycling and walking in recent weeks.
With more employees expected to take advantage of the Cycle to Work scheme, what facilities does your workplace have to accommodate this? Anyone who knows a cyclist will know that a quality road bike is a substantial investment which they will want to ensure is protected – meaning they will need to store it safely on site during the working day.
Help reduce the return-to-work anxiety and encourage the pedal-powered return of your workforce!
